SATURDAY 25TH APRIL
105 IS THE PARR SCORE
A FINE century from Chris Parr (left) was the undoubted highlight of the second team’s 70 run win at Denefield on Saturday.
Having won the toss and chosen to bat, Parr combined with Joel Thwaites (41) to put on 106 for the second wicket. Following, Thwaites’ dismissal wickets fell at regular intervals but a resolute Parr completed his century before being the ninth wicket to fall with the score on 195. His dismissal for 105 in the 52nd over brought about Stockton’s declaration.
Stockton seamers Allan Baird and Joel Thwaites immediately set about their task reducing Blaydon to 37 for three before rain halted proceedings. Once play resumed Blaydon continued to lose wickets before eventually capitulating to 125 all out.
Stockton 195-9 dec (C E Parr 105, J Thwaites 41, J Lloyd 4-54)
Blaydon 125 (A D Baird 3-41, J Thwaites 3-43, A Nicholson 2-30, D M Hiles 2-9)
