The Victorious Stockton Under 13s with Manager Dave Cooper

Sunday 28th August

Blackhall v Stockton

Stockton: Gross 298 for 1 Nett: 290
Blackhall: Gross 262 for 7 Nett: 206

A good game to finish the season off with played in a great spirit by both sides, thanks to Blackhall for the hospitality. With the bat is was a good all round performance everybody chipping in with runs. Bowling was again tight with Farooq taking 3 for 3 and Matty Lowe 1 for 1, luck really has not been with Matty this season and should have taken more wickets. We have finished up winning the League and the Lowery Cup only being beaten once, many thanks to a great set of lads and parents, see you all in January.

Sunday 21st August

Stockton v Seaton Carew

Stockton Gross: 293 for 2 Nett: 277
Seaton Carew Gross: 267 for 4 Nett: 235
Stockton won by 42 runs

A good performance with the bat with Phil Appleton scoring 15 not out and Ben Gibbons 16 not out, a good day was had by Luke Hobbs on his debut from the under 11's scoring 10 not out and bowling three overs, taking one wicket for four runs, well done Luke.

Again the fielding was a good after a nervy start as a win gave the title to us with one game to play at Blackhall. Lets keep it going and see if we can go a season with only one defeat. Well Done Boy's !!

Monday 15th August

THIRTEENS VICTORIOUS IN LOWERY CUP FINAL

Under 13 skipper Farooq Din with the Lowery CupA POOR semi final performance with the bat meant Stockton Under 13s had to rely heavily on the bowling of Ben Gibbons (3-4) and Farooq Din (2-9) to reach the Lowery Cup Final against Darlington.

A fine opening partnership by Johnnie Lee and Phil Appleton got Stockton off to the start they had hoped for. Although middle order were slightly disappointing losing three wickets the last two partnerships came back strongly and enabled Stockton to finish on 289 for three. In reply, Darlington struggled some magnificent Stockton fielding and were restricted to 267 for three in their allotted overs giving Stockton a victory by 22 runs.

Sunday 7th August:

Stockton v Barnard Castle
Stockton Gross: 280 for 2: Nett 264
Barnard Castle: Gross 275 for 6: Nett 227

Batting was led by Andy ParrA fine win when needed as Barny were just behind us in the league so the points were very welcome. Batting was led by Andy Parr and Johnny Lee with 19 and 20 not out respectively. The fielding was a bit lax in parts with several overthrows not helping. Sajit, Ben and Farooq all took two wickets apiece to keep us on our winning streak.
Well Done!!.

Sunday 31st July

Stockton v Hartlepool
Hartlepool conceded game

Wednesday 20th July:

Stockton v Yarm

Stockton Gross: 304 for 3 Nett 280.
Yarm Gross: 260 for 6 Nett 212
Stockton won by 68 runs

Good performances with the bat with Sajit scoring 15 not out and also Johnnie
Lee with another 15 not out led the way. Bowling was tight again and with
Farooq, Andy and Phil taking two apiece it gave us a comfortable win.

Sunday 17th July

Stockton v Darlington

Stockton: Gross 314 for 1 Net 306
Darlington: Gross 245 for 5 Net 205
Stockton won by 101 runs.

A comprehensive win and possibly the best team performance for a long while, everybody played their part as can be seen by the result. Batting performance of the day was Farooq Din with 27 not out and also Adam Nicholson with 13 not out. The other boys all chipped in with some good sensible batting. Bowling again was excellent as was the fielding which was summed up by a fantastic stop by Ben Gibbons leading to a run out. Phil Appleton kept his midweek county form by taking 2 wickets for 5 runs, but I can only say that all the boys were brilliant with the ball, leading to a demoralised Darlington side.

Sunday 10th July

Wolviston v Stockton

Stockton 346 for 4 Gross Net 314
Wolviston 213 for 6 Gross Net 165.
Stockton won by 149 runs

Another win and some good batting performances by most, with 5 of the boys getting not outs. The running was much improved, and we kept the scoreboard ticking over, a fine effort. With the ball we again proved strong. Matty Lowe gave an excellent performance, bowling 3 overs 3 maidens for 1 wicket, brilliant figures!! Everyone again bowled and fielded exceptionally well considering the heat, and restricted Wolviston to actually 8 runs from the bat. Well Done !

Sunday 3rd July

Stockton v Sedgefield

Stockton 319 for 3 Gross: Net 295
Sedgefield 277 for 13 Gross: Net 173
Stockton won by 122 runs

Farooq Din five for 17
Another win and still challenging for the title the pick of the batting was the partnership of Matty Lowe and Andy Parr who put on 39 runs without loss, some great running and calling. Most of the boys did well with  the bat and we are working on some of the small errors so watch this space. On the bowling side we took thirteen wickets which says it all, Farooq taking 5 for 17 and every other bowler took at least 1, the eversteady Wilf Reeve taking 1 wicket for 4 runs including a wicket maiden. Well Done All !!!

Saturday 25th June

Stockton v Seaton Carew

Stockton Gross 332 for 5  Net 292.
Seaton Gross 239 for 7    Net 183
Stockton won by 109 Runs

Notable performances with the bat were Farooq Din with 41 not out and Matty Lowe with 14 not out. Bowling was tight as usual with Ben Gibbons taking 3 wickets for 6 runs from 3 overs and Johnnie Jones 1 wicket for 1 run off 2 overs

Sunday 19th June

Stockton v Blackhall

Stockton  Gross 321 for 3 wickets Net 297
Blackhall  Gross 257 for 10 wickets  Net 177
Stockton won by 127 runs

A good display by all the boys with Adam Nicholson and Farooq Din sharing 19 runs and Andy Parr with a swift 28 led the batting. Bowling honours went to Ben Gibbons with the figures of 2 overs 4 wickets for 4 runs, a fine spell !! My thanks to Blackhall who enjoyed the hospitality and consumed all the bacon, but also by the attitude of all concerned, which contributed to a good game of cricket Welcome to the league.

Sunday 12th June

Stockton v Seaton Carew

Stockton 293 for 1 wicket Net 285  Andy Parr Four for 31
Seaton 313 for 8 wickets net 249
Stockton won by 37 runs

Andy Parr with 20 not out and Farooq Din also with 20 not out were the pick of the batsmen but all the team made runs and we only lost a disputed wicket so well done all. The bowling attack was honours even with Andy Parr taking 4 for 31 and Phil Appleton and John Lee taking two wickets a piece gave Stockton a comfortable win.

Sunday 12th June

Stockton v Norton

Stockton 299 for 4 wickets Net 267
Norton 274 for 2 wickets Net 258
Stockton win by 9 runs

A fine innings  of 31 not out by Adam Nicholson led the way, supported
by Farooq Din with 23 not out. Bowling was tight with Andy Parr bowling 3 overs 2 maidens 1 wicket for 4 runs.

Sunday 5th June

Norton v Stockton

A disappointing game lost by 7 runs, but in the main by giving away 26 extras. Main highlight was some good tight bowling by Wilf Reeve with figures of 2 overs 2 wickets for 5 runs and Farooq Din hitting 25 not out including a big 6.

Sunday 22nd May

Stockton v Hartlepool

Stockton 274 for 0 wickets
Hartlepool 259 for 5 = Nett 219
Stockton won by 55 runs

A great day with the bat, it made up for some lacklustre performances up to now, all the lads played their part with some good cricket being played. It would be hard to pick out an individual performance as my Man Of The Match so it goes to the whole team! Well done.

Thursday 12th May

Stockton v Sedgefield (Knockout Cup)

Stockton  Gross 280 for 4 = Nett 248
Sedgefield Gross 238 for 7 =Nett 182
Stockton won by 66 runs

Yet again another decent bowling performance with Ben Gibbons and Farooq Din leading the way with 2 overs 1 maiden 2 wickets for 1 run and 3 overs 1 maiden 2 wickets for 7 runs respectively. Batting was restrained due mainly to the "quality" of the bowling with Farooq scoring 12 not out and Matty Lowe 10 not out. We will play Seaton in the next round so we face a good test.

Sunday 8th May

Barnard Castle v Stockton

Stockton Net 211 Barnard Castle Net 181
Stockton won by 40 runs

This weekend we travelled to Barnard Castle and probably gave our worst batting performance for many a year, the only two who performed were Sajit and Farooq who played very well for 10 not out and 6 not out. We ended on a net 211. After  the break we fielded and everyone played their part with a performance totally the opposite of the batting, we were superb! The pick of the bowling was Andy Parr with 3 overs 3 wickets for 5 runs and Farooq Din with 3 overs 2 wickets for 3 runs. Barnie ended up with a net 181. A good win but room for improvement.

Sunday 1st May

Match Abandoned due to rain

A comfortable win for the first game of the season and the first time we have been on grass.Good performances by Ben Gibbons and William Hazelton with the bat followed by an excellent game in the field by all. Matty Lowe rounded off a good mornings work with a direct hit from a distance we thought he could not reach!!! Well done boys. Keep it up.
