IT'S NOT SWEET FOR SEVENTEENSAFTER such an encouraging start to his career as U17 skipper James Tompkinson’s bubble seems to have burst after his young charges suffered a third successive defeat. Facing Norton at Grangefield for the second time in three weeks, this time in an NYSD North Division match, Stockton reached 113 for four in their 20 overs. Farouk Din was the top scorer with 46 whilst Andy Parr managed 39. Norton seemed in little difficulty thanks to skipper Harry Linton’s half century but when Tompkinson introduced Under 13s James Kendall and Tom Couthard in to the attack wickets began to tumble and left the home crowd with the feeling that another 10 runs from their batsman would have brought success. Norton’s Kennedy completed his fifty with the winning hit and Coulthard finished with figures of three for 15.
