Stockton v Darlington
Stockton began the game fielding and got away to a good start when Farooq
Din struck in the second over claiming his first wicket of the day with
Darlington on 9. His second wicket came in the ninth over with a wicket
maiden and thanks to tight support bowling Darlington were restricted to
scoring 3 an over. The economical bowling continued however Stockton could
not break through again until the last over when Chris Parr claimed a wicket
and at this stage Darlington had pushed on to 105. Darlington achieved this
largely thanks to an unbeaten 59 from Hodgson.
Once again a second wicket partnership involving James Ward who top scored
with 33 pushed Stockton forward, this time assisted by Joel Thwaites, 26.
Stockton lost some cheap wickets and the excitement compounded in the 19th
over with Stockton needling 7 to win. Joe Savage had pushed the score on
with just under a run a ball reaching 21 then in the 19th over hit a big 6
leaving Michael Conway with the task of scoring a single to win.

Wolviston on 16 and with some excellent tight bowling and sharp fielding
Stockton gradually took hold of the game. Young Farouq Din took 2 wickets,

for a Michael Conway coming in at number 8, who saw the innings out with a fine
21 not out.
James Ward made an early break through with a wicket in the second over.
However, Middlesbrough were scoring at a rate of 6 an over and Stockton had
to wait till the 12th over for the only other wicket to fall, taken by
Rashid Zaheer. With 2 overs left, Middlesbrough needed 15 runs to win and a
huge 6 from Hussain virtually put Middlesbrough past the winning post.
